We’re diving into the deep sea for Mad Lab’s first kids class! Artists ages 5–9 will build their own anglerfish from cardboard, then bring it to life with fluorescent paint. When the lights go down and the black lights come on watch your anglerfish GLOW!

Just in time for Halloween, discover the art of creating seriously creepy special effects! In this hands-on introductory workshop, you’ll learn basic techniques for transforming ordinary makeup materials into convincing wounds, scars, bruises, aging effects, and zombie-inspired skin. We’ll explore how color, texture, layering, and a little creative problem-solving can turn an ordinary face into something wonderfully gruesome. You’ll have opportunities to experiment with different techniques and create your own zombie or special-effects look. A small sample makeup kit is included but feel free to bring your own products and tools. Also consider bringing a portable mirror. Ages 12 and up.

This is a smaller class catering to artists with autism and similar needs. A tactile workshop with an artistic twist for parent and young child, ages 2-4 years. We’ll explore, create, get a little messy, and make something special together.
